Fixing the Undertaker Problem

by JR Cook on

If you’ve been laddering on Hearthstone for any amount of time in the last 6 months, coming across a hunter deck is a very common occurrence. Nearly 100% of the time that hunter deck is going to be aggro and will be running Undertaker in the deck. The Problem If the Hunter gets out an early Undertaker turn 1, or worse, gets a coin and an Undertaker with another 1 drop with death rattle you know immediately that your chances of winning this battle are pretty slim unless you have something to deal with that card. Unfortunately, short of running an Ironbeak Owl in your deck there are only a handful of classes that can deal with that opening. Mage with Frostbolt, Druid with Wrath, Warrior with Fiery War Axe, and Rogue with Backstab + Hero power. Now, there are other possibilities, but once you start putting cards in your

Heroic Kel’Thuzad was actually not a tremendously difficult fight, once you became familiar with the mechanics. He starts with 45 Health, but immediately adds 20 Armor at the beginning of the encounter. The encounter is split into two phases, based around one of either the removal of the entirety of Kel’Thuzad’s Armor, or a randomly triggered timer on or after turn eight. If you successfully remove all of his Armor, he will end your turn at that exact moment. Upon entering the second phase, his available Hero Power will change, moving the fight from its initial DPS race flavour to a slightly more manageable pace. He does, however, spawn two Guardian of Icecrown minions when phase two begins. Read below for Kel’Thuzad’s decklist, as well as images of his Hero Powers, then our recommendation for a successful deck and strategy to defeat him with! Kel’Thuzad’s Hero Powers & Decklist In

BlizzPro’s Heroic Boss Guides

by Kevin Hovdestad on

We here at BlizzPro made the conscious choice not to spoil the Naxxramas content while it was current – as players, we wanted the challenge to ourselves, and that mentality carried over into our coverage throughout the five week release window. Now that Naxxramas has been fully released and available in full for a couple of weeks, we’d like to start and offer our tips, tricks, and experiences with each encounter! Our focus will be on the Heroic challenges, as the normal bosses were generally not too difficult to dispatch. This article will be kept up-to-date with links to a separate write-up for each Heroic guide, so feel free to bookmark it or reference it and check back as we post a walkthrough for each fight. Our intent is to revisit them in roughly reverse chronological order, give or take, to focus on the later encounters that you might still

We here at the BlizzPro Hearthstone site are rabid fans of the game, to say the very least. Whether we’re writing articles, recording podcasts, or chatting it up with you all in the community over social media, we care a lot about the development of the game and how it’s being received by the players. As a result, that leads to a LOT of thinking about Hearthstone. With all of that thinking, some pretty stalwart opinions develop as well. Enter HearthPro Picks! Each week, we’ll be putting our opinions out in the open for you to agree or disagree with on some part of the game – favorite cards, least favorite changes, and on and on. We hope you enjoy and come banter with us! Here we are again! Another week, another wing of Naxxramas. As per usual, we’re debating our favorite card reward from the Construct Quarter. Welcome back, fellow players! Curse of Naxxramas continues its weekly roll out of content with the release of the Military Quarter last Tuesday. This release seemed to go much smoother than the Plague Quarter opening, so hopefully you’ve gotten a chance to wage war against these militant bosses already. In continuing to chronicle my experience with the adventure thus far, I will be talking about my battles in Normal Mode against the bosses and the Class Challenges. This series of articles is here to serve as more of a “Things I Observed” while walking through the halls of the necropolis rather than a “How To Destroy Everything ASAP” guide. We definitely have that kind of coverage for you though, so look around the site for additional coverage! Let’s wage war, soldiers.
