Card Back

With the Year of the Kraken almost ending Blizzard devoted the last card back of the Hearthstone year to the main theme of it: THE KRAKEN. Colors are very fitting with toned down watery blue and pastel brown dominating this back. The Kraken is rather stylized than obvious and IMHO some moving tentacle would have been even better. Overall a beautiful card back nevertheless.

Another Shot at a Missed Card Back

by hsdecktech on

Every season, each player who hits rank 20 or higher gets a fancy new card back, and each player who did not get there does not. The vast majority of card backs are, presently, only available once. Earlier today, Blizzard announced that it is giving us a gift! That is, they are giving us another shot at the Gift Exchange tavern brawl and, as a prize for winning a brawl this week, the Winter Veil Wreath card back. Players who already have the card back will receive the traditional classic pack upon winning, so everybody wins. Official announcement here.

Happy New Year Everyone! It is a new Year and a new Season 34. Of course, there is a new card back to be earned by placing rank 20 or higher in either Standard or Wild. After the Jade Lotus themed back last month, we will get a Grimestreet one in January. Despite the handbuff mechanic, that is not working out in the actual meta, the card back looks pretty cool! The red cobblestones with the Hearthstone logo as a manhole cover look really original, great design there. Well, get the grime from last night out of your head and start earning it!

Its theme is related to the Jade Lotus faction, colored in shiny gold and lush jade green. This month’s back is of the most beautiful so far IMHO. With the 4th and last wing of “One Night in Karazhan” (ONiK) right around the corner, Blizzard might also suggest to play a totally negelected card: Pit Lord.  Perhaps this demon is viable if played alongside Violet Illusionist, which you can unlock tonight… To read the full blue post, continue below.
