New Mage Hero: Medivh

by Crow on

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement of Alleria Windrunner as the new Hunter hero, today started off with the reveal of Medivh as the new Mage. Folks may remember that Medivh was the rogue archmage who, while possessed by the dark Titan Sargeras, opened the first Dark Portal and allowed the orcish Horde to invade Azeroth way back in Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. Medivh, after being killed by his apprentice Khadgar and his old friend Anduin Lothar, would return as a shade, free of Sargeras’ influence and regretful of what his magic had wrought. As atonement, he guided a new generation of heroes including Jaina Proudmoore and Thrall to Kalimdor, to aid Malfurion in protecting the World Tree from the renewed assault of the Burning Legion in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Medivh is a solid choice to suit the mage kit, given how many similarities he has with

Deck of the Week: Flamewaker Control

by JR Cook on

Blackwing Lair is out and one of my favorite cards from the set has been released. It’s no secret that I was incredibly excited about Flamewaker and once I had it I immediately went about trying to find ways to make it work into a deck. It doesn’t fit into Mech Mage and it doesn’t really fit into Freeze Mage – although some of the spells in Freeze Mage work very well with it. Instead I think it creates a new deck on it’s own, and this one I have been playing non stop this weekend. This deck first came to my attention from a post by Yueshen from the Competitive Hearthstone subreddit detailing the Chinese scene. The Chinese player called (life is a trip)#5671 was able to get to Legend #62 on the Chinese region with this deck. The deck is very cheap mana cost wise and also card

Secrets Mage Deck

Episode 30: Secrets Mage Deck This week we tackle the Secrets Mage! It has its pro’s and its con’s, but it’s never a dull match! With many early threats and great burst this deck seems

YouTuber Hysteria captured one Mage’s fine finish against a mighty Warrior: 13 Fireball spells in a row. Why? Because. Just because. Enjoy.

Tavern Takeover is a Hearthstone tournament where 8 players get invited to compete for a $3,000 prize pool. The tournament streamed yesterday and you can watch the vods on their Twitch channel. This week we’re going to cover the top 4 players in the tournament and look at their deck lists. Tavern Takeover uses the King of the Hill style approach with their tournament where each player brings 3 decks. Once a deck loses it’s out, if your deck wins it goes on to play the next game. It’s a best of 5 series, so basically you win by knocking out all 3 decks of your opponent. Today we’re going to focus on 4th place player Alchemixt and his decks. Several of our BlizzPro readers will be familiar with Alchemixt when he was on team Don’t Kick My Robot. He was the author of several of our Deck of the Week
