2018 Final HCT and Competitive Point Totals Announced

The results have been tallied, and the list checked twice, so Hearthstone can now confirm the following final results of 2018’s competitive season. 2018 was a year centered around the Masters Program and Team Standings, both of which will be going away under the new 2019 system. As Che Chou told us in our exclusive interview a few months back, the purpose of the 2018 system was to highlight the best players and teams in the world. Of course, these scores also translate to prizes and other benefits to the successful players. So, with the scores finalized, here they are!
The third season of the 2018 Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) concluded on Nov. 30, and so it’s time to spotlight our Hearthstone Masters, final Pro Team Standings, and Regional Points Leaders.
Hearthstone Masters
This year, the Hearthstone Masters System was created to recognize top players based on the consistency of their performance. The program counts points earned since 2018 Season 1 through the Dec. 1, 2018–March 31, 2019 transitional season, as announced in Hearthstone Esports’ plans for 2019. Accrual toward Masters status will conclude with the 2018 HCT World Championship in the spring—but the benefits will not! Here’s what everyone who achieves Hearthstone Masters status will receive next year:

As a reminder, first place receives $10,000 in prizing, second receives $6,000, third receives $4,000, and fourth receives $2,500. Additionally, the points leader for each region will receive an invite to the 2019 HCT World Championship! (If the points leader in any region is already qualified for the World Championship, the slot will pass to No. 2 on the leaderboard, and so on.)
