Hearthstone Reveals from BlizzCon 2017 Opening Ceremony: Kobolds & Catacombs

by - 6 years ago

Mike Morhaime had the pleasure to start this year‘s opening ceremony. He tackled the importance of esports for all Blizzard franchises.

For Hearthstone, game director Ben Brode himself revealed this year‘s last set for Hearthstone: KOBOLDS & CATACOMBS.

It‘s an homage to classic RPGs. In this style, he took us to explore the catacombs by choosing our path revealing the first few cards:

Priest’s Dragon’s Soul is the first revealed of 9 class Legendary weapons. Yes, each and every class will get one! The already teased Marin the Fox will summon a 0/8 Treasure Chest on the opponent’s side of the board which once broken will give you an “awesome loot”. Tolin’s Goblet seen above is one of those. There is also a new keyword: Recruit. It will put a minion directly from the deck to your side of the battlefield. There will also be a new and totally free single player game mode: Dungeon Run.

It will challenge you to defeat eight dungeon bosses. You start with a ten card deck which will grow in size and strength with every boss beaten by adding Treasure cards and loot.

More announcements will be made in the upcoming “Hearthstone: What’s Next” panel later today. The official Kobolds & Catacombs website is already up for you to check out. The pre-purchase is also open starting now. For some more impressions, see the screenshots below as well as the opening cinematic of Kobolds & Catacombs.
