Fire Festival is Over; Frost Festival is On

by - 7 years ago

As hinted to in Patch files and Ben Brode’s AMA last week, the Midsummer Fire Festival has ended and has been replaced by a Frost Festival. The Frost Festival is expected to run until around the release of the next set “Knights of the Frozen Throne,” next month.

Edit: Blizzard has since confirmed that the Frost Festival will run for 3 weeks, and that arena runs will reward Knights of the Frozen Throne packs. We still believe that the Festival will likely lead up to the Knights of the Frozen Throne release which, if so, would land on August 9/10.

While the Fire Festival offered double gold, the Frost Festival emphasizes Arena by offering an Arena-based quest reward, a free Arena run at the beginning (and, rumor has it, free arena runs each week of the festival), and a free win in each Arena run. There’s also a special Frost Festival Tavern Brawl to celebrate how much Ahune (Frost Lord and host of the Frost Festival) is better than Ragnaros.

For those of us who aren’t already Arena specialists, now might be the time to learn a thing or two! Check out some screenshots and let us know what you think, below.
