Hearthstone – What’s Next: Newest Expansion “Mean Streets of Gadgetzan” Revealed (BlizzCon 2016)

In today’s Opening Ceremony and “What’s Next” session Blizzard announced the next expansion / adventure for Hearthstone called “Mean Streets of Gadgetzan” (MSoG). It will be released early December. A pre-purchase option is available as I write, 50 packs for $49.99 / €44.99. I already got it 😆
The theme of the new set will be based around three different factions of Gadgetzan:
- The Grimy Goons (Hunter, Paladin, Warrior)
- The Jade Lotus (Druid, Rogue, Shaman)
- The Kabal (Mage, Priest, Warlock)
Every faction will have unique cards, so-called “Tri-Class cards“. These cards are neutral but can only be used by the three classes which are part of the faction they belong to (e.g. Kabal cards can only be used by Mage, Priest or Warlock). You can see all of today’s the spoiled cards below as well as screenshots of the event. One particular interesting Tri-Class Legendary was revealed: Kazakus (Jade Lotus). He enables you to develop a custom spell as a battlecry effect. You can choose cost of the spell as well as two ingredients out of a vast selection. Examples of these ingredients can be found in the “cards spoiled” section after Kazakus.
I will later add two links. The first one is the Gadgetzan Card “Spoiler List” where you can check out all cards that are known so far. The second will get you to the Gadgetzan “Power Rankings” where you can see my evaluation of the playability of each card spoiled. Both sites will be frequently updated with every subsequent card release, so make sure you recheck them frequently.

All in all, the mood of this set is dark which is reflected by the night-time illustrations of the cards and the gameboard. The story revolves around Gadgetzan’s developement after the Cataclysm with a lot of shady figures of the underground of Gadgetzan. Street thugs, outcast magic users and pirates – everything the gangster heart desires! Catch a glimpse of what that means by watching the trailer above.
