Karazhan.com Owned by Blizzard – Just Switched Servers

by - 8 years ago

In a little over 24 hours Blizzard will be announcing their next adventure in Hearthstone. We have pointed out that it is likely an adventure mode based on Karazhan.

Up until today, it was just a registered parked domain on GoDaddy. You can see more about this in the Disguised Toast video he released last week

However, today, that all changed. The website now gives a 403 error Forbidden. This means it no longer allows public access and once Blizzard announces the new expansion this will be removed. This happens on all past Blizzard domain names with their new games.

Furthermore, if you do a whois search for Karazhan.com you will come up with the name server NS-EAST.CERF.NET which has an A record that points to the IP address of 24.105.29.30. I’ll try to spare you the truly technical details but this means the DNS record for karazhan.com is pointing to that IP address I listed above.

If you do a whois search on that IP address, you will discover that IP block is owned by Blizzard Entertainment.

In a little over 24 hours, you will be checking out http://karazhan.com for the new Hearthstone Adventure Mode.

part of me wants the site to link to a page right at announcement that just says “this is not the adventure you are looking for” and they bought it to troll us all… I DO NOT expect that, but I would find it hilarious.
