Discover Mechanic is Four Times Likely to Pull Class Card
by JR Cook - 8 years ago show comments
Some initial testing with Discover by the community was showing that by using the Discover mechanic that it seemed to be heavily weighted to pull a class card instead of a neutral. Some reports were showing upwards of 400% more likely to pull a class card.
It has now been confirmed by Ben Brode that Discover is indeed 4 times more likely to be a class card over a neutral card. So now when you play a card with Discover, your math is going to be a lot closer to being able to pull a bit more specific card rather than have a larger pool.
@ESchwenke That’s intended. A class card is 4x more likely to be discovered. Sorry we didn’t make that more clear during the announcement.

What do you think of this? Does this make you choose Discover cards a bit more when building a deck? Let us know!
Yay for class cards, although I think I’d prefer a guaranteed choice from two cards class cards and 1 neutral.
THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! Jeweled Scarab is now a MONSTER in Shaman decks, sure it had the potential, but being 4 times likely to get a 3 cost class card for Shaman is just great! Lighting Storm, Feral Spirit, Elemental Destruction, WOW! Mage? Torch, Flamewaker, Frost Nova, Arcane Intellec, the value.
