This HPL Season Finale Teaser is the Best Thing PVP Live has Done!

by - 9 years ago

After 10 weeks of an intense Round Robin Tournament (and one extra week for a tie-breaking round),  8 out of 16 players advanced to the next stage, the Live HPL finale. Zalae, Purple, Dog, Sjow, Neirea, Jab, Muzzy, and Kranich, all claimed spots for the yet-to-be announced event. We’ve been kept pretty much on the dark about the event since the regular season came to a close, but it looks like that is about to change. Today, new information surfaced about HPL’s final extravaganza, and it came in the form of a Teaser Video that you can check out below.

PVP Live was often criticized for taking themselves waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay  too seriously. The atmosphere of HPL was not like the relaxed standard of the Hearthstone community, and this backlash seemed to seriously hurt their audience numbers. PVP Live started to rectify this as the Season progressed, instilling a lighter mood late into the season, but they seemed to have turned this up to eleven for this teaser video.

C R I N G E   B O Y S !

Hopefully this is a look into the future of PVP Live’s Hearthstone Productions. Maybe the HPL finale will help as a sort reboot for the brand and the Hearthstone community will finally give PVP Live a second chance.

See you all in November!

*slowclap* Well played, PvP Live. Well played. 😀

I’ve enjoyed their coverage despite the criticisms. I like what they’re at least trying to do with the stats, I like the different format they’re trying out, and I appreciate the production values. Definitely tuning in for the finale.
