Highlights

Neirea Sweeps Archon:

Liquid Neirea started his week super hot, getting back-to-back 3-2 victories over both of Archon’s HPL representatives. His victories over Zalae, and Purple were super close, but put him up to 4-0 overall regardless.

Jab continues the Streak:

Jab went 3-0  last week with victories against Muzzy, TidesofTime, and Zalae. This week he toppled Greensheep and the previously undefeated Neirea, pushing his winning streak to 5-0. Jab’s 0-2 start seems to be a thing of the past as the Hearthlytics player continues to build momentum.

The next week continues to be tough for Jab as he runs into Archon’s Purple and Complexity’s Dog

RDU Joins the Race:

Cloud9’s struggles continue this week, Ek0p lost another match and is near the bottom of the ladder with a 1-4 record, meanwhile Tides was DQ’d from the tournament. To replace him, PVPlive brought in Nihilum’s RDU. The Romanian standout inherited a 0-3 record to the tournament, but he immediately put himself on the winning column by taking out Greensheep. RDU will have to come from behind if he wants to advance in this tournament, but he guaranteed to make the live finale where everyone will be on an even playing field.

Dog the only undefeated player left on HPL:

Dog kept his momentum rolling with a victory over his fellow Complexity member, SuperJJ. This victory put him at 4-0, where he remains at the top of the rankings. With Neirea dropping a game to Jab, Powder falling 0-3 to Archon Zalae, and Purple losing a few matches this week, Dog is the only player who has yet to taste HPL defeat? Can he keep his streak going? Zalae and Jab will be looking to prevent it.

Kaldi’s Shades:

Kaldi had perfect battle rage draw to close out a series against Ostkaka, his reaction? Priceless.

Next Week’s Featured Matches

Jab vs. Purple:

Jab’s resurgence has been one of the biggest stories in HPL thus far. He’s followed up a shaky 0-2 start with an immense streak of 5 consecutive wins and right now looks unstoppable. Jab has already beat Purple’s teammate, going 3-1 against Zalae, and he will be looking to complete the sweep on Team Archon. In fact, Jab’s partner Muzzy has already beaten purple, and Jab could put team Hearthlytics 3-0 against Archon with a victory next Monday.

Dog vs. Zalae:

Also on Monday, the Undefeated Dog tackles Archon’s favorite duckling. Dog has been dominant thus far, but Zalae is coming off a shutdown victory over Powder and after a less than ideal start, he’ll be looking to build momentum of his own. Interestingly enough, both of these players currently reside in Texas, which is where the PVPLive studios are located.

Powder vs. Neirea:

Powder and Neirea both took their first HPL loss this week, and on Wednesday one of them is going to take another one. Both competitors are well positioned on the League and this match-up is very important on their quest to remain in the top of the rankings and qualify to the live finale.

Dog vs. Jab:

Next week is finishing up with a bang, as Jab and Dog will go head to head on Thursday’s last match. Jab and Dog are the two players who’ve had the most success in the early stages of HPL and they have the longest live winning streaks. But those winning streaks colliding is not guaranteed, as both of them have to face Archon Team Members earlier in the week. Should Dog beat Zalae, and Jab defeat Purple, these two would have a combined record of 11-0 on their last eleven matches.

What a fitting main event for next week.
