Hearthstone Teases New Button

I had way too much fun making the title of this article because we’re getting hyped up about a new button teased on the Hearthstone Twitter account.

So we now live in a world where the appearance of a new button brings us excitement. This isn’t anything new – I mean we’ve discussed the possibility of a new button getting added for future functionality as far back as the game originally hit beta.

However, this tease is on the heels of the alternative heroes reveal from last week and I don’t think Blizzard would just release a cosmetic feature without something else planned. Just look at the community’s reaction over the alternate heroes, the players are looking for something to be added to the gameplay in Hearthstone as the game has already started to get a little stale after Blackrock Mountain and 6 months after the release of Goblins vs. Gnomes.

In my opinion, I think this will be a new feature to the game and we’ll probably hear what that feature is in the next day or so. What is it though? I’m not entirely sure. However, we can dream it will be some kind of in game tournament option. That’s really what I want.

What are your thoughts on what it is?

    Would be great if it was a button that could ban face hunter and grim patron decks QQ

    Back OT though I’m really curious now. First time I’ve seen this

    I expect to see a tournament to encourage use of the spectator feature but since attention span is probably limited to 30 minutes that’s a max of 3 game?
    How about a 4-player round-robin. 100g to enter, the winner gets two decks and the runner up gets 1.
    To keep it “fair” yet different from the arena play, all players get 9 new deck slots usable only in this mode which unlock all cards.

    They did confirm that it wouldn’t be a 2v2 or co-op mode on the german page though: http://hearthstonechampion.com/2015/06/blizzard-teases-new-hearthstone-game-mode-on-facebook-page-wont-be-co-op/ I’d like to see a tournament mode, it would be a great feature that could bring new life to the game

      They’ve said many times in the last several months they have no plans for co-op mode currently – so not sure why that was even up for debate
