Got Lethal? #2: Priest Attack Manipulation

by - 9 years ago

Welcome to “Got Lethal?” a (hopefully) weekly feature that will try to put you on complicated, yet winnable situations. We will bring you puzzles of sorts where you are tasked with determining the best line of play, which mostly is play that will guarantee you the victory. Maybe this will help you train your pro-skills and perhaps with a bit of luck you won’t Miss Lethal ever again, or maybe the scenarios are way too fantastic to be of help on serious matches, anyway at least I hope you can have fun with them.

Priest Attack Manipulation

Our roommate is a Hearthstone Noob, and has challenged us to a friendly game. Instead of going with our stellar Mech Mage or the always solid Warrior Control. we’ve decided to go with a gimmick Priest that messes with your enemy minion’s attack so you can steal and destroy stuff, for the finish we wanted an inner fire/divine spirit combo because style points matter. Sadly, you got over confident and gave too much board advantage to draw some extra cards with Northshire, now you are about to lose to a lowly War Golem. Sure, the board clear is easy, but you haven’t seen Rockbiters, Lightning Bolts, or Crackles and you just can’t afford to lose this game.

We need lethal this turn, and you are the only one that can save us from an embarrassing Defeat.

Last week Broly0906, JRGutier, Smurf and others helped solve the puzzle. Is this week your turn to make your way into the “Got Lethal?” imaginary leaderboards?

  1. Dan Jack says:

Yes, I will not give away the answer but give you a hint that you’d need 4 cards

  2. Yasherets says:

The maximum you can do is 12 damage. There’s no lethal here.

  3. Dibface says:

This is the solution I found:
Slam 4/2 BGH into 2/3 Feral Spirit.
Slam 2/1 Ironbeak Owl into 7/7 War Golem. War Golem is now 7/5.

Use Reversing Switch on War Golem, now a 5/7. (1 mana spent)
Use Shrinkmeister on War Golem, now a 3/7. (3 mana spent)
Use Shadow Madness on War Golem. (7 mana spent)
Use Divine Spirit, then Inner Fire on War Golem, creating a 14/14. Slam into face for Lethal. (10 mana spent)

  4. 32deram says:

    hola mama

  5. RadioCrash says:

    trade BGH –> Wolf,
    Owl hit the 7-7 = 7-5
    Reversing Switch to 5-7
    Shrinkmeister for a 3-7

Shadowmadness —> Divine Spirit — Inner Fire
    14-14 to the face.

  6. Hugo Ibarra Morales says:

1: play vol’jin and change the life of the golem
    2: use divine spirit, now vol’jin is a 6/14
3: ise inner fire in vol’jin now is a 14/14
4: trade the BGH into feral
    5: attack with vol’jin
    6: gg

  7. Sydney Teare Orellana says:

use shadow maddness in feral spirit 2/3
swap feral spirit 2/3 with reversing switch at 3/2
    play vol’jin in Ironbeak Owl]
    attack to face 6+4+3=13
    gg

  8. Phillip Norton says:

I couldn’t get more than 12 but I knew somehow you had to use the War Golem for 14, nice work Dibface.
