Reconnect with Nature with the Ancestor’s Call

Ancestor's call

Shaman and Druid engaged in a nailbiting race over the weekend, fans of both classes went neck-to-neck to get their favorite to win the reveal vote. But even when just 3 hours before the reveal the votes where dead even at 50% vs 50%, in the end Shaman managed pull a last ditch effort to sneak out a victory.

Sadly, I stand unimpressed by this epic spell, this seems way too costly for a symmetric effect. If you consider the random factor, you’ll be hard presses to reliably get an advantage out of this card. When you consider that your opponent gets to use their new minion first then things really look bleak. On a more positive angle, getting a costly minion out for 4 enables combos that otherwise wouldn’t be possible. Also, you could force a your opponent’s finisher to come out early and you’d even deprive it of its battlecry, Calling your opponents Alextrasza’s could go a long way towards negating your opponent’s win condition. The Ancestor’s Call could also disrupt combos by forcing your opponent to play the cards they had been hoarding, can you imagine the rage when you call out and immediately kill a Miracle Rogue’s Auctioneer?

The Ancestor’s Call is a really complex card and to accurately analyze its value you’ll have to resort to a true Hearthstone expert.
