The Illuminator brings some extra healing to Secret Decks

Illuminator

Looks like Gnomes won round 1 of the Hearthstone Reveal Vote. The Illuminator has decent stats and brings some potent healing if you manage to have a secret out. While the healing is not as flexible as the one found in Earthen Ring Farseer, keeping both the Illuminator and your secret out will allow you to benefit from the effect over and over.

Easier said that done though.

Still, the Illuminator opens up interesting possiblities for secret decks and I can’t wait to see the effect Goblins vs. Gnomes has on the meta.

How do you rate Illuminator? Send me a tweet to @DannieRay23, and let me know.

Also, Round 2 of the Hearthstone Reveal Vote is already up, so go check that out at the official hearthstone site.

    mage frost!

Pretty strong minion for Freeze Mage. Just not sure what they’ll take out of their kit to add this in.

Yeah agree with you there, although there is so synergy with nova and such, maybe in the hyped sludge belcher version. Maybe it would add some longevity into midrange secrets?

I think freezing the board and playing this guy with a secret up makes a nice combo. Also has synergy with Freeze Mage MVP Mad Scientist. But you’re right, the Illuminator is a way better Farseer for any defensive secret deck. Could be the ultimate tech for the Hunter mirror!

Flamestrike isn’t that great a card for starters. It just doesn’t do enough if any of the opponent’s minions survives it. I feel like at that stage you need to be freezing the board instead. You could also cut a single draw card. I’m curious if there’s space for the Illuminator and Explosive Sheep, which promises to be a strong early clear card (basically a consecrate with benefits in control Mage). Mb Freeze will curve lower in general to stabilise faster vs tough match ups like Druid and Hunter.

Paladin can also benefit greatly from this, specially Paladin healing decks.

This would be true if control pally actually ran secrets. I run a control redemption deck but no one else really does. Twizz should totally ask for my list though

  4. Armitage says:

don’t you think the fact it triggers at the end of the turn instead of at the begining makes it a bit too strong?
