Nerubian Egg Combo!

by - 10 years ago

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Naxxramas is up and running!  The wings are being released week by week, slowly introducing new cards to the game.  Studder and I are working feverishly to expand combo possibilities for these new cards and we think we’ve found a winner!

Hearthhead NerubianNerubian

One of the cards that I found hard to work with was the Nerubian Egg.  Do I want that baby to hatch into a 4/4?  Heck yeah!  But how?  Do I have to wait until an AOE (area-of-effect) spell kills it?  How do I kill it myself?  It’s almost as bad as an Ancient Watcher because it’s just going to get ignored.  I mean, it can’t attack or do anything so why would my opponent even mess with it?  THIS WILL NEVER DIE!  I’M NEVER GOING TO GET MY 4/4!!!!!   ……wrong!

CrazedAlchemist

I’ve added eggs to my recipe!

Crazed Alchemist steps into play here and makes all the difference in the world.  As you can tell, the Crazed Alchemist swaps the attack power and the health of a minion.  What happens when a minion reaches 0 health?  It dies…obviously.  If you play the Nerubian Egg on turn 2, chances are that it’s going to be completely ignored.  Do you ever go after an Ancient Watcher and try to kill it when it’s played?  No way!  It’s not a threat right now so why waste my mana?  On turn 3 you can use the Crazed Alchemist to end your turn with a 2/2 and a 4/4 on the board and I don’t care what you say, your opponent is going to have to go through some nice cards that he (or she) likely wanted to save for later in order to fix that problem.

So with that said, we encourage you to enjoy making the board a nightmare early game and stay tuned for more combos as we develop them!

The Power Hour goes LIVE every Tuesday night as Curse of Naxxramas wings are released to guide you through your adventures in Necropolis.  Feel free to tune in on our Twitch channel at 9:00 p.m. CDT (10 EDT, 7 Pacific) and come say hello!

Nice! I’m going to add a couple of Crazed Alchemists to the deck I’m trying out. I’ve also been using Void Terror with the egg.

Just use abusive seargent or dire wolf and then trade it with a minion, can also use flametongue and other cards to get use out of the 0/2 body. Taunting it with argus is awesome too

Other ways to activate the egg I’ve found/tried since the wing opened: giving the egg attack value from either abusive sergeant or the 0-3 totem (there are other ways ofc), killing it yourself with backstab, si:7 agent, fire elemental and other dmg battlecries. Forcing the enemy to attack the egg by giving it taunt also works.
