Fireside Chat: What are your Curse of Naxxramas Goals?

by - 10 years ago

Anticipation for Naxxramas has been building over the last few day with new details emerging regarding the pricing structure, golden cards and deathrattle changes. The only thing we’re missing now is a firm release date, but if it’s anything like the “Official Launch”, the necropolis will probably just drop on us at some point in the next week or so and we’ll stumble across a tweet telling us it’s live. Regardless of how or when this new content is released, everybody will have access to the first wing straight away and new cards and decks should start popping up on the ladder very quickly.

I’m the type of person who will probably focus all of my Hearthstone time and energy into devouring the new content, making sure that I complete each wing and obtain every card available. My priority is going to be on learning the new mechanic changes and making sure I’m taking my time enjoying the unique PvE (Player vs Environment) experience. I’m also very eager to try the Heroic modes of each fight so that I can really push my skill level forward. I anticipate the meta will be quite unstable for a few weeks as new cards come into play slowly and each wing is unlocked and cleared. For some, this may be the time to set a stretch goal of reaching Legend rank. This is something that I haven’t ruled out for myself, but I’ll probably stick to my goal of improving my fundamentals first so I’ll most likely give the meta some time to settle again before I attempt my next ladder climb.

So, how about you guys? What will your Hearthstone goals or priorities be once the Curse of Naxxramas descends upon us all? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter – @BlizzPro or @HearthProShow.

Get all the cards. Unlock heroic mode. Beat heroic mode. Yup.

  2. Ben says:

Now that I have resigned myself to spending cash on the thing, stockpiling gold is now happily not one of my goals.

i rhink it will ruin whole game!! 🙂 and i will be right 😀

I’ll be devouring the PvE content, unlocking the cards and trying to push Heroic mode. I’m at the point that I don’t want to craft anything but golden cards (I’m still missing several legendaries, but I’m patient enough to open them in packs or craft the golden versions). With the news that crafting is the only way to get the golden Naxx cards, I will be prioritizing crafting those first (legendaries > epics > rares > commons) and then continue hoarding dust to mass craft a full golden collection. It will probably take a year or several, but there’s no rush. Just like WoW, I’m in this game for the long haul.

I can’t wait for some new PvE. I’ve probably missed the details somewhere, but how is it actually going to work? Do you have to use a specific hero with a preselected deck like in the tutorial?

    • Stephen Stewart says:

As far as I can recall, I believe you can use any deck you make up to face the bosses in normal and Heroic mode. For the class challenges, I think the deck might be pre-made or you will be limited to only a deck using that Hero.

Things have been shifting in development, so don’t quote me on that, but I think that’s where it all last stood.

I have secured all of the gold to unlock the wings, so I will basically fall into a pattern of unlocking the wing, beating it on Normal, and then trying to be it on Heroic until the next wing is available. Once that comes up, if I haven’t beaten the one I was on before on Heroic, I’ll save it, beat the next one on Normal, etc. etc.

Basically, I just want access to all of the cards nearly as soon as possible so I can start understanding how they work and how they’ll fit into the meta and then I’ll worry about the bonus of taking down Heroic once all of that is said and done.
