Details on Obtaining Golden Curse of Naxxramas Cards

by - 10 years ago

Community Manager Zeriyah has an uncanny ability to be everywhere at once. Following up on her Curse of Naxxramas price structure and Heroic Mode reveal earlier today, she appeared in a Reddit thread with details on how to get Golden versions of the cards we will earn in the Curse of Naxxramas adventure.

Greetings everyone! Good to see everyone chatting about our latest announcement.

A big question that we’ve seen pop up with this blog is about golden cards. Where do you get them?

When you unlock the non-golden versions of cards from each Naxxramas boss, golden cards will be immediately available for you to craft using your Arcane Dust. That’s it!

Feel free to ask us questions you may have about Naxxramas pricing in this thread and we’ll do our best to answer. Thanks, Hearthstone community!

This news seems to be being met with far less open arms than the previous pricing details and Heroic mode unveil. What do you all think? Approve or disapprove? Sound off in the comments below.

UPDATE

Zeriyah has been monitoring feedback on this particular announcement and replying to some criticisms. A popular suggestion has been to “gate” the Golden cards behind downing the bosses in Heroic Mode. Zeriyah fights this off with the following response regarding previous internal testing of this very same mode of acquisition:

Acquiring golden cards from Heroic Mode bosses was actually something we had in-game during internal testing. We actually received a lot of negative feedback on this method of golden card acquisition. Like I mentioned, Heroic Mode bosses are not easy, and it felt really bad for people that felt like they could never get the golden versions of Naxxramas cards. We made this change to make things more accessible for everyone.
