Tournament Watch: Don’t Kick My Robot Invitational

Earlier this week, our partner, Don’t Kick My Robot (DKMR), unveiled their next great venture. These guys are all over the Hearthstone community, writing articles for multiple outlets and having participants in nearly every tournament you’ve ever heard of. Well, now they’ve decided to just go ahead and host their own!
Starting on June 12th, the DKMR Invitational will be held in partnership with one of the team’s sponsors, 2P. The first showing of the tournament series is planned to be aired live at 9:00 p.m. EDT and can be viewed via 2P’s website.
So, how about the details? It’s an interesting format, really.
- Every week, a new professional Hearthstone player will be invited to take on DKMR’s previously selected (from their own in-house tournament) combatants for a chance at what initially starts at $100.
- The pro plays two DKMR members: one in a best of 5 series for $25 and the second in a best of 7 for $75.
- If the professional cannot beat both players, they win nothing and the pot increases by $100 for the next week.
- A win by the invited professional player resets the pot back down to $100.
Those are the more juicy bits with the full details regarding the format, the casters (Kobayshi Maru and DaLighzic), and a special event to be held after the first 16 weeks all available in DKMR’s press release.

With such a stacked list of participants, including the DKMR players themselves, this will be a tournament you surely want to keep an eye on as the weeks go by and the pot potentially grows to significant amounts of money!
