Curse of Naxxramas Paladin Card Revealed

by - 10 years ago

The second class card for Hearthstone’s upcoming Adventure Pack Curse of Naxxramas was revealed late last night on the official Hearthstone Twitter account. Uther will, predictably, draw upon the light to bring down vengeance on those who dare stand against his allies.

Avenge

While the Druid Poison Seeds card raised a lot of eyebrows and immediately had individuals clamoring ‘OP! OP!’ across various social media outlets, Avenge is certainly a bit more low key. Given that secrets can no longer be activated on your turn, this card’s worth automatically seems somewhat diminished. It feels safe to assume that this buff will be random, unless you’ll be allowed to choose on your opponent’s turn. That sort of functionality does not exist presently, so I’d be surprised if that ends up being the case.

There’s some interesting synergy between this and area of effect spells. Assuming an opponent believes you’re running this, it might be possible to bait them into using a Holy Nova or Flamestrike foolishly to wipe your board, ensuring none of your creatures receive buffs. Hopefully seeing more of the Curse of Naxxramas set will grant further insight into the this card’s uses.

I believe this is meant to be activated on your turn. Not sure how this will play out.

As of the patch instituted before launch, no secrets can be activated on your turn.
