ManaGrind Officially Ends Tournaments

by - 10 years ago

It’s a sad day in the community as competitive Hearthstone group ManaGrind has officially closed the doors on their regular Hearthstone tournaments. To those a bit newer to the scene, ManaGrind had been holding regular events even before the game was released in closed beta, making use of the Cockatrice client. Moments ago, the official ManaGrind Twitter made these statements.

While other organizations are now holding regular tournaments, ManaGrind’s core group definitely pioneered the scene and helped develop it into what it is now. They offered swiss tournaments, limited, and more, creating a space for players at all different levels to compete. No need to worry, however. ManaGrind assures us that they’re not in any way, shape or form shutting down, and we’ll be seeing more from them in the future.

We are most definitely not shutting down at all – great things are coming from ManaGrind!

It was bound to happen. It is my understanding over half the staff quit managrind over some “shady” things. This, plus their MLG format, just screams dead duck.

Ye I heard something similar, that a lot of the tournament staff were leaving so they couldn’t run the tournaments any more.
