This is Outrageous! – Blood Imp Edition

by - 11 years ago

I’m a simple man. I like my coffee black and my Pint Sized Summoners to only have two health. I come from a strange land where, most decks I make do not have access to area of effect spells on turn one, and because of that, Blood Imp is an invasive parasite that needs to get out of my life.

It’s a familiar story. I see a Warlock deck and I think to myself, ‘nice, free win’, and then come turn one, I see a wild Blood Imp appear. Blood Imp is a Warlock demon that has stealth and gives allied minions plus one toughness. Harmless enough, right? No, see, you’re wrong. It’s awful. Come turn two, Blood Imp is still on the board unless I’m a Warrior with Whirlwind, and now the opposing Warlock is playing some minion that should only have two health, or something that makes two minions that should only have one health each. My life is terrible now. There’s just no real way to deal with this, in general. If I can deal with it, I’m probably throwing out most my hand in order to deal with the symptoms, rather than the actual problem, Blood Imp.

I don’t believe Blood Imp is ‘OP’, no, that moniker is reserved for more silly cards, like the soon to be nerfed Defias Ringleader. I do, however, believe it is too strong for one mana. Stealth assures that, for most decks, until turns 3 through 5 at the earliest, the Warlock’s minions will have free reign of the board and either crush what I put down, or simply cost entirely too many resources to take down.  God forbid a second one gets put down, or Shattered Sun Clerics start buffing the accursed Imps. If either of those things happen, it’s usually good game, well-played for me.

Shattered Sun Cleric, quit using your powers for evil!

Shattered Sun Cleric, quit using your powers for evil!

Blood Imp, I’m going to ask you politely to stop being such a strong card. Maybe instead of stealth, you could have two or three toughness. That’d be a lot more reasonable because then my Leper Gnome, or my Hero Power could actually stop you from brutalizing my chances of victory. You sir are truly, truly, truly outrageous.

Hahahaha My Blood Imps feast on your tears. Hahahah. 😛 Yeah I pretty much play exclusively a Warlock deck and I just love these little guys. Turn one Blood Imp turn 2 Succubus good times. Then add to this the Imp Master and fun is had by all.
